"What does a typical
week actually look like?"
Here's this week's real schedule. No two weeks are identical — but every week has something worth leaving the house for.

Family Brunch
Every Saturday, 9am–noon. Grandchildren sprint across the lobby. Chairs are already saved. Come as you are.
"How do I know they'll
actually enjoy it?"
We'd rather you hear it from the people who were skeptical first. Here's what they said after their first month.
"My daughter found Gather after my wife passed. I told her I wasn't interested. That was three years ago. I've made more friends here than I did in thirty years of working."

Harold M.
Retired engineer
"I moved here from Portland not knowing a single person. The garden walk on my third morning — someone handed me coffee before I even asked. That was it for me."
Dorothy C.
Retired librarian
"I use a walker. I was terrified the yoga class would be embarrassing. The instructor pulled up a chair and said 'this is the real class.' I've been back every Monday."

Rose T.
Former schoolteacher
"My husband and I came looking for pickleball partners. We found a whole community. We eat dinner here twice a week now and honestly, it's better than anything we cook."

Barbara & Jim K.
Retired couple

"Dad said he'd try it once. He's been going four days a week for two years. He calls me now to tell me about the people he met. That's the best phone call."

Sandra L.
Adult daughter, Chicago
"I was a skeptic. Retirement felt like being put out to pasture. Gather is the opposite — it's where I feel most like myself. The painting class changed something."

Frank O.
Retired physician
"The ceramics instructor remembered my name on my second visit. That shouldn't be remarkable, but it was. It set the tone for everything."
Evelyn N.
Former music teacher
"I called to ask about parking for my scooter. Whoever answered knew the answer immediately, offered to walk me in on my first visit, and meant it. Small things matter."

"Is there something for someone
who isn't very social?"
Yes — and you'd be surprised how many members started exactly that way. Gather has quiet corners, solo activities, and zero pressure to mingle. The conversations tend to find you.
